Over the past 10 years Wimbledon Town Centre has gone from strength to strength. Not only is it well established as a quality retail shopping experience, it is also the UK head office base for a number of well known household names such as Heineken and Coty. They have chosen to locate their business here because Wimbledon has great public transport links, easy accessibility to key roads and a local source of well-qualified employees. These days Wimbledon is recognised as a prestigious location, offering a wide choice of shops, theatres, restaurants and leisure activities, making it a great place to do business and work.

Wimbledon Town Centre Management is run by Merton Chamber of Commerce and not by the local authority, and has already made great strides in putting Wimbledon on the map. Events such as Winter Wonderland and the markets, as well as a variety of performers, are now regular features and we have many more events planned for the future. Our links with key stakeholder groups and the local authority mean we can influence action on key issues such as crime, graffiti, transport and parking. Local businesses are becoming more involved with Town Centre Management and we now have 11 businesses who financially support us, and a further 25 businesses who support our events, as well as 3 businesses who support us in kind.

Town Centre Management also actively influences new developments in the town centre and seek to contribute to future development proposals.

Not only does Wimbledon need to sustain its current profile, it needs to build for a better future. If more businesses get involved in Town Centre Management we can work together to make this happen.
