Winter Wonderland brought in record
crowds!

What
was on around town?
The evening kicked off with entertainments around town from 5pm
– children’s rides, live music from Southside Steel
Harmonics, Surrey
Strings and Memu, balloon modelling, face painting, juggling,
magic shows, Ivan Inversion the upside down busker, roasted chestnuts,
candy floss, mince pies and special offers from local stores; an
Arts and Crafts stall from Wimbledon College of Art. There were
prizes and giveaways throughout the evening. |

Who was in the Parade?
6.00pm
- Leading our parade is African drum and dance performers, Odehei;
Haslemere Primary School, Morden Primary School, Build-A-Bear Mascot;
AFC Wimbledon, The Mayor and Town Crier; Polka Theatre, Snow White
and the Seven Dwarfs from the Italia
Conti School; Time & Leisure.

Christmas Lights &
Fireworks:
6.45pm
- Radio Jackie introduced our celebrity guests from this year's
panto Snow White, for the official switching on of the Christmas
lights and countdown to the fireworks display from the rooftop of
Centre Court Shopping Centre.

What's on at the Shops?
Have
you asked Santa for a holiday? For one night only, Flightcentre
is offering a 10% discount. Pop in to meet them and have a mince
pie! Terms and conditions apply. 13 The Broadway. Free face
painting inside Centre Court from Gleeson's
Framers, and in the Children's Department of
Books Etc. (first floor) from Lifes4Living.

Competition Winner
A
pupil from Sacred Heart Primary School won our competition for best
dressed child. The manager from Build A Bear, who sponsored the
competition, selected the winner before the parade. Dressed as a
lit up Christmas Tree, the winner was presented with her very own
bear by DJ Stephen Mowbray from Radio Jackie. Our thanks to Build
A Bear for sponsoring this competition and thanks to all the children
who went to such efforts to bring the spirit of Christmas into Wimbledon
with their fabulous outfits!
